After a long and hard winter of work our efforts weren’t quite rewarded with a good first event of the year. Suffering a lot of knocking higher up the revs which resulted in a poor time. If you keep an eye on the powerfc hand controller you can see the knock levels spiking well beyond acceptable levels. We think we’ve traced it down to a faulty maf meter. If you listen at the end of the video below you can hear the revs fluctuating on idle when I pull into my paddock space. Trying to get a new one ordered up and get it remapped in time for Doune this weekend is the current goal.
On the plus side I did win my class and I was only 2 seconds slower than last year, even with the problems, so I know with a working maf meter we’re onto a winner.
Big thanks to Purdie Worldwide again for being my main sponsor, WH Tyres for the setup, and to Iain Murray for working endless nights on the car fueled only by tea and biscuits.
